Final Projects or Artifacts:

Students will create a comprehensive career portfolio, including a polished resume, a cover letter tailored to a specific job or field, a list of professional references, and a personal statement outlining their career goals and strengths. Additionally, they will participate in a mock interview and receive constructive feedback to refine their presentation skills.

Program Requirements:

  • Student Email Addresses (for account creation)
  • Instructor access to SmartBoard or Projector
  • Laptop 1 per student (ex: Chromebook; Lenovo)
  • Access to Social Media Platforms (ex: LinkedIn; Instagram; TikTok_
  • General Stationary - Ex: Pencils paper pens
  • Access to Print/Digital Media Sources (ex: Newsela.com; PBS LearningMedia)

Program Description:

This course equips students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to successfully transition into the workforce or pursue higher education. Topics include resume building, effective communication, interview techniques, time management, and workplace professionalism. Students will explore career pathways, set personal and professional goals, and develop a strong understanding of how to navigate job markets and workplace cultures. By the end of the course, students will feel confident in presenting themselves as qualified and capable candidates in any professional setting.
