Students will create a signature baked good, such as a decorated cake, artisan bread, or plated dessert, presented with a recipe card, step-by-step photos, and a reflective write-up detailing their inspiration, process, and challenges faced during the project. This item can be showcased in a baking portfolio or shared in a class tasting event.

Program Description:

This course introduces students to the art and science of baking, providing a hands-on experience in creating a variety of baked goods. Students will learn essential techniques such as measuring, mixing, kneading, and decorating while exploring the role of ingredients and how they interact. From breads and pastries to cakes and cookies, the course emphasizes creativity, precision, and presentation. Alongside practical skills, students will gain an understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and time management, preparing them for both recreational baking and potential culinary careers.
