Program Description:

This course introduces students to the creative and technical world of sneaker design, blending art, fashion, and product development. Students will explore the fundamentals of design sketching, color theory, materials, branding, and cultural influence in sneaker design, while also learning about the history of iconic sneakers and current industry trends. The course encourages creativity, originality, and design thinking as students develop their own sneaker concepts. If materials are available, students may work directly on white canvas sneakers, applying paint and customization techniques to bring their designs to life. If materials are not available, the course can be delivered in a theoretical and design-focused format, where students create detailed sketches, mockups, and digital renderings of their ideas without physical application.
