Final Projects or Artifacts:

Students will create a polished creative writing portfolio containing their best work from the course. This portfolio will include at least one completed short story, a poem, and a personal essay, along with a reflective piece detailing their creative process, growth, and inspiration for their work.

Program Requirements:

  • Media storage (flash drive
  • shared folders
  • etc)
  • Laptop 1 per student (ex: Chromebook; Lenovo)
  • General Stationary - Ex: Pencils paper pens
  • Access to Printer (for Instructor documents)

Program Description:

This course invites students to explore their imagination and develop their voice through various forms of creative writing, including short stories, poetry, personal essays, and scripts. Participants will learn key elements of storytelling such as character development, plot structure, and dialogue, while honing their descriptive and narrative techniques. Through workshops, peer reviews, and writing prompts, students will build their confidence, refine their craft, and discover new ways to express themselves. The course emphasizes originality, critical thinking, and constructive feedback, fostering a supportive environment for creative growth.
