Students will host and facilitate a tabletop game session, selecting a game, explaining its rules, and guiding gameplay for a group. They will also provide a written or verbal analysis of the game, discussing its mechanics, player dynamics, and what makes it engaging. This project highlights their understanding of tabletop games and their ability to lead and collaborate effectively.

Program Requirements:

  • No Tech
  • Instructor access to SmartBoard or Projector
  • General Stationary - Ex: Pencils paper pens
  • Access to a variety of board games

Program Description:

This course introduces students to the rich and engaging world of tabletop games, including board games, card games, and role-playing games. Students will explore a variety of game genres, such as strategy, cooperative, storytelling, and party games, learning the rules, mechanics, and strategies for each. The course emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and social interaction, creating a fun and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels. Participants will also gain an appreciation for the design and cultural impact of tabletop gaming while building communication and decision-making skills.
