Final Projects or Artifacts:

The final project for the Introduction to Chorus course will be a Portfolio Performance. Each student will participate in a group performance, showcasing a selection of pieces studied throughout the course. Additionally, students will submit a personal reflection video or essay that discusses their growth as a vocalist, their contributions to the ensemble, and their experiences with the choral repertoire. This dual-component project allows students to demonstrate both their practical skills and their personal musical journey.

Program Requirements:

  • Instructor access to a piano; keyboard; or similar
  • General Stationary - Ex: Pencils paper pens
  • Access to Printer (for Instructor documents)

Program Description:

This course aims to cultivate students' vocal abilities, enhance their understanding of choral music, and foster a deep appreciation for musical collaboration. Through a blend of practical exercises, theoretical studies, and performance opportunities, students will explore various aspects of choral singing, including vocal technique, sight-reading, harmony, and ensemble performance. The objectives of this course are to develop students' vocal skills, introduce them to a diverse repertoire of choral music, and instill in them the values of teamwork and artistic expression.
