About this program

This course introduces students to the world of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, providing a foundational understanding of how digital currencies operate. Students will explore key concepts such as blockchain mechanics, decentralized finance (DeFi), cryptocurrency mining, and the role of cryptography in securing transactions. The course also covers the economic, ethical, and environmental implications of cryptocurrencies, as well as practical knowledge on how to use digital wallets and trade responsibly. By the end of the course, students will have a well-rounded perspective on the potential and challenges of this emerging technology.

Final projects or artifacts

Students will create a mock cryptocurrency project proposal, including the design of a new digital token, its use case, and a simplified blockchain architecture. The project will include a visual representation of the token, a whitepaper summary outlining its functionality and goals, and a reflection on its potential real-world applications and challenges.
