About this program

This course prepares students for the Autodesk Certified User: AutoCAD certification by developing professional drafting and technical drawing skills used throughout architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing industries. Students will learn technical drawing standards, precision drafting, layers, annotations, dimensions, layouts, plotting, floor plans, mechanical drawings, and blueprint interpretation. Through project-based learning and certification-aligned activities, students will develop the technical precision and design skills necessary for careers involving computer-aided drafting and design.

The final project can include: A Complete Technical Drawing Portfolio featuring architectural, engineering, or mechanical drawings. A Residential Floor Plan demonstrating professional drafting standards. A Mechanical or Engineering Drawing Set with annotations and dimensions. A Certification Readiness Portfolio including completed drafting exercises and certification practice assessments.
