About this program

This course prepares students for the Autodesk Certified User: Fusion certification by introducing the fundamentals of 3D computer-aided design (CAD), engineering design, product development, and digital manufacturing. Students will learn how to create sketches, build parametric models, assemble components, generate technical drawings, and prepare designs for manufacturing or 3D printing. The course emphasizes engineering design principles, problem-solving, and iterative development while introducing students to careers in engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, architecture, and product development. Through hands-on design challenges and certification-aligned projects, students will develop both technical proficiency and creative design skills while preparing for Autodesk certification.

Final projects or artifacts

The final project can include: A Complete 3D Product Design created using Autodesk Fusion, including sketches, assemblies, and rendered models. An Engineering Design Portfolio documenting the design process from concept through final product. A Manufacturing Drawing Set with dimensions, tolerances, and technical documentation. A Certification Readiness Portfolio containing completed design challenges, practice assessments, and a personalized certification study plan.
