About this program

This course prepares students for the CompTIA A+ certification by developing the technical knowledge and practical skills expected of entry-level IT support professionals. Students will explore computer hardware, operating systems, networking, mobile devices, virtualization, cloud computing, cybersecurity, troubleshooting, customer service, and technical support best practices. Through hands-on labs, simulations, and certification-aligned practice activities, students will build confidence diagnosing and resolving technology issues while developing the professional skills required in today's IT workforce. The course also explores career pathways in information technology, technical support, systems administration, and help desk operations.

Final projects or artifacts

The final project can include: A Technical Support Portfolio demonstrating troubleshooting procedures for hardware, software, networking, and operating systems. A Computer System Build or Upgrade Proposal explaining component selection, compatibility, and system configuration. A Help Desk Simulation documenting customer interactions, problem diagnosis, and technical resolutions. A Certification Readiness Portfolio containing practice exams, troubleshooting scenarios, and individualized preparation plans.
