The final project can include: A Personalized Test-Taking Strategy Guide – A student-created reference outlining strategies for pacing, question types, and managing test anxiety. A Practice Test Analysis Report – A breakdown of performance on a sample test, identifying patterns in errors and strategy adjustments. A Time Management Plan – A structured approach to completing different sections of a test efficiently. A Reflection on Strategy Application – A summary of which strategies were most effective and how they improved performance.

Program Requirements:

  • Instructor access to SmartBoard or Projector
  • Laptop 1 per student (ex: Chromebook; Lenovo)
  • Subject specific study guide

Program Description:

This course focuses on developing universal test-taking strategies that can be applied across a wide range of standardized and classroom assessments. Rather than concentrating on specific subject content, students will build skills in time management, question analysis, critical thinking, pacing, and stress management. The course teaches techniques such as eliminating answer choices, recognizing question patterns, managing difficult questions, and maximizing efficiency under timed conditions. Students will also explore strategies for different test formats, including multiple choice, short response, and essay writing. Through guided practice and reflection, students will gain the confidence and tools needed to perform at their best on any exam.
