About this program

This course introduces students to the exciting world of fashion design, blending creativity, artistic expression, and practical design principles. Students will explore the fashion industry while learning the fundamentals of fashion illustration, color theory, textiles, garment construction, trend forecasting, branding, and the fashion design process. The course also examines the history of fashion, cultural influences, sustainability, and career opportunities within the industry. Through creative projects and design challenges, students will develop their own fashion concepts while building skills in visual communication, problem-solving, and design thinking. Depending on available materials and school resources, students may create physical fashion accessories or garment prototypes. If materials are not available, the course can be delivered as a design-focused experience, emphasizing sketching, digital design, mood boards, fashion collections, and product development.
