About this program

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of robotics and programming using LEGO robotics platforms such as LEGO SPIKE Prime, SPIKE Essential, or LEGO Mindstorms. Students will learn how to design, build, and program robots using block-based coding, while exploring key concepts such as movement, sensors, loops, conditionals, and problem-solving. The course emphasizes hands-on learning, creativity, and teamwork as students complete challenges that simulate real-world engineering tasks. Through iterative design and testing, students will develop both technical and critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Final Projects or Artifacts:

Final projects or artifacts

The final project can include: A Functional Robot Build – A robot designed to complete a specific task such as navigating an obstacle course, sorting objects, or completing a challenge. A Coding Explanation – A written or recorded walkthrough of how the program controls the robot’s actions and responses. A Design and Iteration Log – Documentation of the building process, challenges faced, and improvements made. A Challenge Strategy Plan – A student-created guide outlining how the robot approaches a specific task or competition-style challenge.
