The final project can include: A Performance Piece – A recorded or live performance of a song demonstrating chords, rhythm, and transitions learned during the course. A Chord and Scale Reference Guide – A student-created resource showing key chords, scales, and finger placements. A Practice Log and Reflection – A record of practice sessions, progress made, and challenges overcome. A Songwriting or Arrangement Project – A simple original song or a personalized arrangement of an existing song using learned techniques.

  • Guitar (1 per student)
  • Guitar picks (2–3 per student)

Program Description:

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of guitar playing, including basic techniques, music theory, and performance skills. Students will learn how to properly hold and tune the guitar, play basic chords, scales, and strumming patterns, and read chord charts or simple tablature. The course explores a variety of musical styles such as rock, pop, blues, and acoustic, allowing students to develop both technical ability and musical expression. Emphasis is placed on practice habits, rhythm, and confidence, creating a supportive environment for beginners to build a strong musical foundation.
