A Practice Test Performance Report – A data-driven analysis of multiple full-length practice tests with reflection on improvements and remaining challenges. A Skills Mastery Journal – A collection of revising/editing exercises, reading comprehension annotations, and math problem sets with student explanations. A Test-Taking Strategies Guide – A student-created reference sheet of strategies for managing time, eliminating answer choices, and handling difficult questions.

Program Description:
This course is designed to prepare students for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT), which determines admission to New York City’s specialized high schools. Students will develop the critical skills needed to succeed in both sections of the test: English Language Arts (Reading Comprehension and Revising/Editing) and Mathematics. The course emphasizes reading strategies, grammar fundamentals, problem-solving techniques, and time management. Through structured lessons, practice exams, and targeted instruction, students will strengthen their academic abilities and build the confidence necessary to perform at a high level on test day.
