The final project can include: A Career Pathway Exploration Report – A research-based presentation on a chosen sports-related career, including required skills, job responsibilities, and industry trends. A Sports Marketing Campaign – A branding and sponsorship strategy for a professional team, athlete, or sporting event. An Event Management Plan – A mock plan for organizing a sports event, detailing logistics, budgeting, and promotion strategies. A Sports Media Analysis – A breakdown of sports journalism, social media engagement, or broadcasting trends in the industry.

Program Requirements:

  • Instructor access to SmartBoard or Projector
  • Laptop 1 per student (ex: Chromebook; Lenovo)
  • General Stationary - Ex: Pencils paper pens
  • Access to Printer (for Instructor documents)

Program Description:

This course explores the diverse career opportunities within the sports industry beyond being an athlete. Students will learn about key fields such as sports marketing, event management, sports media, analytics, coaching, and front-office operations. The course covers essential skills such as leadership, communication, sponsorship negotiation, and the role of technology in modern sports. Students will gain insights into professional and collegiate sports, eSports, sports law, and entrepreneurship in the sports world. Through real-world case studies, guest speakers, and interactive projects, students will develop a strong foundation in how the sports industry operates and the career pathways available.
