Grade Levels:

(Grades 8-12)

Final Projects or Artifacts:

Students will create a Statistics Mastery Portfolio, which includes: A data collection and analysis project, where they gather real-world data (e.g., survey results, sports performance, or social trends), organize it into graphs, and interpret statistical findings. A probability simulation, where they use statistical models to predict outcomes and analyze patterns (e.g., modeling dice rolls, weather probabilities, or business risks). A hypothesis testing report, where they conduct a statistical test (e.g., t-test, chi-square, or regression analysis), interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions from their findings.

Program Requirements:

  • Instructor access to SmartBoard or Projector
  • Laptop 1 per student (ex: Chromebook; Lenovo)
  • Subject specific study guide
  • General Stationary - Ex: Pencils paper pens
  • Access to Printer (for Instructor documents)
  • Subject Specific Curriculum Materials (ex: student homework or textbook/worksheets)

Program Description:

This course provides students with a strong foundation in statistical concepts, data analysis, and probability. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, probability distributions, inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and data visualization. Students will learn how to collect, organize, interpret, and present data while applying statistical methods to real-world problems. The course emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and preparation for standardized tests such as AP Statistics or college-level coursework. Through hands-on activities and case studies, students will develop practical skills for analyzing data and making informed decisions.
