This course invites students to explore the art and craft of filmmaking through the analysis of classic and contemporary films. Students will examine elements such as narrative structure, cinematography, editing, sound design, and thematic content to understand how filmmakers create meaning and evoke emotion. The course emphasizes critical viewing, thoughtful discussion, and written analysis, allowing students to deepen their appreciation for film as an artistic medium. Students will also have opportunities to create their own short film projects, applying the concepts they’ve learned in a hands-on, creative way.
